Surgical Innovations at St. John’s Hospital

Our Versius Robotic Surgery programme is well under way after the first robotic procedure was successfully carried out in January by Prof Christina Fleming.

In this video we hear from Prof J Calvin Coffey on the clinical benefits of robotic surgery and from our REO Ms Sandra Broderick on the strategic significance of robotic surgery delivered by a Model 2 Hospital.

This represents a significant milestone in surgery innovation, advancing surgical treatment to improve patient experience as we continue to build on our current programme so that we can offer this service to many more patients.

In the video, we also hear from Mark Slack, chief medical officer CMR Surgical and from David Laheen, managing director M.E.D. Surgical who supported us with training and implementation.
