Fundraising
The Friends of St. John’s Hospital have been very successful in fundraising for the Hospital,
thanks to the generosity of the public.
If you wish to contribute to their fundraising efforts, you may:
- Contact the Hospital and ask to speak to a member of the Friends of St. John’s Hospital Fund
Raising Committee, who will inform you of current fundraising events
- Forward a cheque or postal order made payable to “St. John’s Hospital”.
Please do not send cash by post.
Tax Relief on Donations
Financial donations to St. John’s Hospital of €250 or more in any year qualify for tax relief.
The arrangements for allowing tax relief on donations depend on whether the donor is a PAYE taxpayer
or an individual on self assessment or a company.
PAYE Taxpayer
The relief will be paid directly by the Revenue Commissioners to St. John’s Hospital. The
donor will be asked to complete a certificate, available from St. John’s Hospital, showing the
amount of the donation and PPS number of the donor. St. John’s Hospital will then claim a repayment
of tax in respect of the donation.
Self-assessed Individual
The individual claims a deduction for the donation on his/her tax return.
Corporate Donations
Corporate donors claim a deduction for the donation as if it were a trading expense.
Thank you for your generosity!
